The library was one of the places that Albus Potter frequently haunted during school. Some of his other favorite spots included the Slytherin Common Room, his dorm, and the Quidditch Pitch. He was an avid reader so he actually came to the library for more reasons than one. Of course it was simply perfect for studying and completing homework because of the numerous books that lined the shelves not to mention the fact that it was quiet as well. It was also a place of solitude unless exams were coming up since most people avoided the library until the last possible minute... or so it seemed to Albus anyway. Unlike his siblings, who couldn't seem to stand being alone, Al didn't particularly enjoy crowds that much. He was a loner by nature due to being a smidgen shy.
This was not to say that he wouldn't accept company if someone came and wanted to sit with him at his table. He wasn't opposed to people in general; as a matter of fact, he was pretty social once he started to talk. He was just unable to stop himself and often said whatever came into his head without thinking it through first. This was a trait that had given him some trouble ever since he was young and although he always tried to watch his words they occasionally spilled out anyway. So, as a result, Albus was a fairly quiet young man who also happened to have a rather mellow personality. He was level-headed and it never escaped his attention that he often played the 'Voice of Reason' among his friends and family.
Al wasn't exactly opposed to this role; however, he did require a few breaks in his hectic life and found that the library was an ideal place to visit. Here he was well-known for a completely different reason than being the son of famous Harry Potter. He was intelligent for his age and often requested to go into the Restricted Section. He did have a darker side, which was why the hat had sorted him into Slytherin (although in actuality Albus told it to put him there, but that's beside the point...), that not many people were aware of. He was fascinated by the Dark Arts; more importantly the defensive spells against all of the nastier curses such as the Unforgivables. Although this seemed to be a time of peace the teen knew that good times couldn't last forever so it was best to prepare while he could, right? Right.
The library was also the one place where everyone knew that if Al could be found there then he was not to be bothered. This was a pretty strict rule with him because he didn't want to become distracted by other matters while he was trying to study for a test or writing out one of his assignments. Today though Albus was doing neither as he was caught up on all of his schooling until he actually received more homework. He was instead engrossed in Moste Potent Potions, which was a rather interesting read for him. He had recently begun to attempt a few short cuts as his idol, Severus Snape, had been known to shave off time quite easily. He was finding this a rather difficult task however as the newer books merely listed the process and not how the Potions Master managed to change the recipe without it exploding. He had a spare bit of parchment laying nearby so he could write down anything he found useful. To some it seemed like a dull pass time at best, but to him it was almost as good as playing Quidditch or going to Hogsmeade.
