SMILE THOUGH YOUR HEART IS ACHING SMILE, EVEN THOUGH IT‘S BREAKING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was a beautiful day outside, clear skies and the perfect temperature to not be too hot as long as you removed your cloak. This was why Victoire had chosen to take her book outside, because being cooped up on such a wonderful day had to be a crime. Flipping the page, she continued reading, laying on her stomach in the grass. She was off the edge of the lake, far enough away to not get splashed by the giant squid or be the target of getting tossed in. Of course, it was a bit hard to find peace and quiet out here, seeing as most students had flocked outdoors due to the weather. She was attempting to ignore them though, continuing on with her story, focusing on her book.
This was the relaxing time she needed, with recent events she had found herself slightly distracted, it wasn’t doing any good for her classes. Mainly the issues with France, how strange the new students from France seemed, and how some her family was in France now. To add to her plate, lately she has found herself feeling sort of differently when around her best friend. She had grown up with him, he was her closest friend now, it would be awkward to admit to feeling something more. Victoire had a few boyfriends from the past, nothing serious though. This was different, because if by some chance he returned her feelings but it didn’t work out, how could they go back to being best friends. Their friendship was far more important than her urge to be with him as more, which was why she was opting to not say anything. Still, it was on her mind a lot, distracting her from her classes.
Yes, relaxing outside with a good novel was just what Toire needed. So pushing out the noise of other students, she turned the page once again, reading on and keeping her thoughts immersed in the story.

Post by LILY LUNA POTTER on Aug 15, 2011 17:57:20 GMT -5
lily had heard that the day was wonderful. as it was a weekday, she unfortunately had to wait to venture outside until after classes were through. it was almost unbearable sitting through potions, wanting to be drenched in sunlight and warmth, grasping the firm grass beneath her form as she stretched out among the hogwarts' lawns. finally, the day crept to a slow end, and classes ended. lily potter squealed as her professor dismissed them, then practically almost fell between the gap between the stairs and landing on the fourth floor, anxious to get to the tower.
once in the gryffindor common room, lily changed clothes. her gryffindor robes were replaced with jean shorts, a white v-neck tshirt, and a pair of white sandals. she slipped on her shoes, grabbed her bag which she slung over her shoulder and pulled to the side, the strap between her breasts, then headed back into civilization. she practically ran over a first year as she exited the portrait hole, but hey - she was bigger and faster. he shouldn't have been there.
she traveled down the moving staircases with irritation riding her back. lily simply wanted to get out in the sun before it was gone. she raced to the back of the castle, where she slammed open the door and ran out into the world. the bright sunlight captured her sense of vision, blinding her slightly. she didn't care. she kept running, blinking away the spots of yellow and white from her sight. lily smiled as she continued on, nearing the lake. upon doing so, she caught glimpse of a patch of blond hair that could belong to none other than her eldest cousin, victoire. vic was always so pretty, and lily always admired her hair. she felt like she was a sore thumb, a weasley through and through. not that personality-wise that was wrong, she just hated sticking out so much.
"hey toire!"
she called, then smiled as she took a seat by the girl. she noticed, though, that she was reading. "oh, sorry!" she said in a more hushed tone, slipping off her sandals and laying down on her stomach. she put her head on her arms that were crossed in front of her, staring down at the grass til victoire had patience to deal with her.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

SMILE THOUGH YOUR HEART IS ACHING SMILE, EVEN THOUGH IT‘S BREAKING - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Victoire was just in the middle of reading the last sentence on her page when a voice called out to her, causing her to look up and see the red hair of one of her many cousins. With a smile, she slipped her bookmark in, shaking her head and closing the book when her younger cousin apologized. ”Don’t be sorry, I always have time for you,” she assured, setting her book to the side, still laying on her stomach next to her little cousin. Vic was always the type to make time for everyone, she would never ditch someone simply because she was reading, it was just a pass time that could be saved for later. Spending time with your family was much more important than a story from someone’s imagination.
While some people envied her long blond hair that was so much like her mother’s, Vic actually loved the Weasley red. The right shade made it beautiful, which was exactly what Lily Potter had. Growing up, she had always felt like she didn’t fit in because she had blond hair when so many of the Weasley’s had red. Of course, not all of them did, but it was like a Weasley trademark and she’d always been so proud of her family. Especially now, she wished she looked completely like a Weasley, so she could forget her French roots that she normally loved. While she loved her grandmother and aunt in France, the recent happenings were causing her anxiety. The French were clearly acting suspicious, and she hoped no one would look at her or especially her mother in a different light.
”How have you been? Classes going good?” she questioned the younger girl, always the one to check up on her cousins. Of course, the boys didn’t appreciate it so much, they thought her motherly ways were embarrassing. Most of the girls looked to her for advice though, which she loved, and hoped she lived up to be a wonderful role model for them. Vic so badly wanted to please everyone and make them proud, to be a role model that her cousins could aspire to be, to lead them to do wonderful things. ”No boy problems I hope,” she teased with a playful smile, personally her cousins was a tad too young for any serious boyfriend.

the young potter was pleased when her cousin disregarded her book for her. victoire was always like that. she was more keen to interactions with people than stuffing her nose in a book, though she was intelligent. she and lily were very similar in that idea. they loved family and friends, and read when time allowed it. she smiled at her older cousin as she intrigued to her life as of late. "everything's well. i still don't particularly care for herbology or potions, but i'm doing decently,"
she replied, a newfound glow about her. she much rather like defense against the dark arts and charms than any other subject, but accepted that other courses were mandatory and at least attempted to seem interested in class. upon the subject of boys, lily sighed, rolling her eyes. "unfortunately, no. never get the chance with james around," she said, pouting. her eldest brother was always there, without fail, to make sure boys didn't get to know her. she realized she was only fourteen, but that didn't mean lily couldn't have a boyfriend or two. she didn't want anything serious, but what was so bad about flirting for a bit? james wouldn't have it, and she was sure her father would do nothing to stop james' protective antics. at least albus was a bit more relaxed about the whole deal. victoire, lily was sure, sided with james - however, she knew vic would listen to any of her problems and give her good advice. "how are you, though? how are your classes?" she asked, then cheekily grinned. "do you have any boy problems?" she questioned, grinning. if lily didn't have any crazy love stories to tell, she imagined victoire might. toire was beautiful and boys always seemed to fall at her feet. lily hoped that when she grew up, boys would act the same around her. she hadn't had the chance to find out if they actually woud or not, but she hoped to gain that chance sometime in the future. at least, lily wouldn't let james rule her life forever - no debating that, really.
